One of two: the U.S. trademark office signed our mark for America’s 250th-Anniversary Ceremony.

On 23 July 2026, in the Commerce Research Library at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) held a Commemorative Patent and Trademark Signing Ceremony for America’s 250th anniversary. Our registered trademark, COINSOLATION (U.S. Registration No. 8280419), was one of two trademarks selected for inclusion. During the ceremony, the 41st U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Howard W. Lutnick, and the USPTO Director, John A. Squires, signed a ceremonial copy of the mark by hand. The office ran the event as part of its programme marking 250 years of U.S. patents and trademarks.

We want to be precise about what this recognizes.

In 2023 the USPTO registered around 400,000 trademarks. For the United States’ 250th anniversary, it chose to sign two of them by hand, and COINSOLATION was one. In its letter to us, the office described the mark as representing the direction of innovation in the country. We read that as a genuine honour for the name, and we will leave it there: a ceremony is not a contest, and a certificate is not a verdict on a fund.

Which is the distinction that matters. A trademark protects a name; it is not a review of the fund. Our regulator, the Mauritius FSC, reviewed and licensed the fund’s structure, but no government body has judged it a good investment or promised its returns. That is not fine print to us, it is the point: we would rather you trust the structure than the certificate. The protections that count are unchanged: independent custody, administration and audit, the licence itself, and full disclosure in the offering documents. Investing carries risk, including the loss of capital, and no signature in Washington changes that. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one we ask you to hold over anyone who wants to manage your money.

We remain pre-launch. The fund is not open to subscriptions today. We secured our CIS Fund Licence from the Mauritius Financial Services Commission in June 2026, and the first dealing date is targeted for August 2026. When the fund opens, it opens through the offering documents, not through this newsletter, and you will hear it from us directly.

So we are marking the trademark for what it is: a good day for the name, and a reminder of why the name exists. We chose COINSOLATION to give eligible African and emerging-market investors a regulated route into U.S.-listed markets, on terms investors elsewhere take for granted. A certificate in Washington does not prove that purpose. The structure behind it has to, and that is the work we will keep reporting to you, milestone by milestone, in plain language. You have followed this from the start. You should hear it first.
